Cana 90 – Second Week of Easter Friday
Say my Name, Say my Name
Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of [his] disciples that are not written in this book. But these are written that you may [come to] believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through this belief you may have life in his name.
~ John 20:30-31
There is a song from the late 90’s that begins the refrain with “say my name, say my name”. While the song is unfortunately not about relying on the Name of Jesus the end of the Gospel from this past week is. The entire Gospel, the Good News, the Message that the Apostles and Disciples wanted to pass on is that Jesus is the Son of God and we have life in His Name.
There is power, in the name of Jesus
This is another song, but one not nearly as popular. It’s an old, beautiful Carribean hymn. Even without knowing the melody this hymn is something you can institute in your family to help foster those seeds of New Life that the Lord is growing.
Utilize the name of Jesus in your everyday life. Call on the Name of Jesus when you are thankful, or when you are in need. There is power in simply saying the name of Jesus Christ.
Activities for Family time:
I encourage you if you do not have a family prayer to Jesus to create one this weekend. It doesn’t have to be long or flowery. It can be as simple as “Jesus I love you”. But have something that everyone in your family knows and prays at a specific time, such as after Mass, or before bedtime, etc. Make sure it includes the powerful name of Jesus. This is a part of allowing Jesus Christ to be the King of your family, using His name in prayer frequently.
