Cana 90 – Fourth Week of Easter
“My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”
The Hebrew word Shema is often translated “to hear”, but in it’s depth means everything that ought to follow hearing. Like “to obey” or “to take action upon what one has heard”.
Shema is a centerpiece of Jewish tradition surrounding Deuteronomy 6:4 “Hear (Shema) O Israel, The Lord is your God and the Lord alone.”
It is no coincidence that in this Easter season our Gospel this week is short and to the point. Jesus is clarifying that hearing AND following His voice is an integral part of being in relationship with Him.
What has the Lord been saying to you?
Do you recognize his voice in everyday life?
Do you follow him like a sheep hearing and obeying?
How can you improve your listening skills?
